Looking for My Friend, Part 2
General Summary
With one of the bandit archers amenable to leading them to the camp, Hadrian picked up the unconscious one and the party headed into the woods. After about an hour of hiking along a narrow trail, they came to quite suddenly upon a palisade fort. There, archers watching on two towers rang a bell in warning and demanded to know who they were and what they were doing there. Terri claimed to be a friend of Rhal 's, stating they were there to talk. The men on the towers demanded to be given the password. When the party pressed their captive for the password, the men on the towers executed him with arrows.
After some tense moments and some quick talking from the party the bandits decided to allow them to approach, on the condition that they remove their weapons, armour and spell component pouches. Having done so, the party approached the front gates. When the gates opened, the party found themselves surrounded by about a dozen bandits. Standing across the courtyard, was Rhal . Rhal did not seem too happy to see them. However, he offered Terri and Ashertiel a position in his organization, on the condition that they prove their loyalty by killing Thyrn and Hadrian . One of the bandits jammed a greatword into the ground in the middle of the courtyard and stepped back. Terri pulled out a potion of enlarge person, walking toward the sword. Ashertiel grabbed Thyrn and teleported out. Hadrian stood still and was quickly attacked by Terri. He then quickly offered his services as an armourer to the bandits. Rhal reluctantly agreed, but tasked the two of them with hunting down the escaped casters. He sent Mad Dog Presley , Dominick the Buster and Lucky Robey along to keep an eye on them.
Ashertiel and Thyrn reappeared in Cauldron and immediately made plans for how to deal with the innevitable manhunt. They teleported to the gates of Xiomara and did some shopping. The others travelled with their bandit minders to Lakeside where they sought out a caster to teleport them to Warhaven. Hadrian managed to escape by not wanting to teleport. He then made his way on foot to Warhaven. Terri and the bandits appeared in Warhaven where they sought magical aid in contacting the rest of the party, wanting to meet up. Unbeknownst to the bandits, Terri had already been contacted via the sending spell by the casters, who had spent a lot of money on sending scrolls to arrange for everyone to meet in Cauldron.
