United Woden Tribe

The United Woden Tribe, also refered to as the Wode Tribe, or simply The Tribe, is the governing body of the wode people.

Structure

The Tribe is run by a single High Chieften who resides in Wode'val and dictates laws and edicts from the capital. The High Chieften is supported by their five Low Chieftens who govern and administer the outer tribal areas.

History

Unification

Before the United Tribe the wode were a set of five warring tribes; the Denja of the Ventosh Mountains, the Backt who inhabit the cave systems of the mountains, the Shonoh who are located in the Wode Trees forests high on the slopes of the mountains, the Lapida who live in the trees of the lower river way, and the Winda of the coasts.   The wars and battles continued throughout history until the cataclysm of the Ash Age ruined all tribes ability to make war. Starvation and freezing temperatires led to mass die-offs that put the wode in danger of being gone forever. That was until a traver known as Udagan convined the survivors and refugees to group together and find shelter at the base of the tallest mountain in the Ventosh range. This new consolidated tribe began to see their fellow wode in a new light, one where working together led to advancements in woden life and technology despite the dire state of the world. They began to call themselves the United Tribe and hailed thier new leader, Udagan the Unifier.   When the ash cleared and the lands began to come back to life the wode expanded back into thier old habitats, but remained a single unified tribe that would never forget what nearly happened when the wode were divided. The Wode propspered and began to set sights to the wider world outside of thier island, the first official expedition to the mainland and peacful introduction to the malgrove occured less than ten years later

Invasion of the Hashien

It was during this time of relative prosperity that the wode met the hashien, a large wolf-like creature with claw tipped hands the size of the wode themselves. They came on huge ships (single sailed rafts) as the ash released its choke on the Traversable Sea and began the Battle for Wode Island by attacking in the dark of night.   At first the fight was a slaughter, the hashien tore through woden villages like rat through a carcass, but slowly little by little the invaders began to fall. The wode fought back with claw and tooth weapons alongside their bonded animals that bit and scratched and plucked until the hashien numbers began to fall.   After the battle was won and the hashien pushed from the shores of Wode Isle a coucil was held of the chieftens when High Chieften Andigan declared that a structured and centralized military should be established to ensure and maintain the peace of the island, Namtho the leader of the resistance during the war, was named the first general.

Meeting Humans.   The ships the Humans arrived in made the Hashien ships look tiny and broken in comparison.

The woden people who live in the Tribe often keep to to their ancestral tribal boundries on Wode Isle, and rarely live outside of thier tribal group.
