Winnow

In its first few centuries, Periton would slowly but constantly put an emphasis on its technology. Many artificers of the time would come from the Clockwork city. Quebys, or often called Winnow, was one such artificer. Originally believing to have a specialty in refrigeration technology, Winnow created many cold storage buildings throughout the city. Many of them, such as the Coldbox, are still used and maintained to this day.
It was nearing the edge of her life that what she had merely thought to be freezing the temperature of a place or object was discovered to be more than expected. Her creations often held the ability to slow objects and creatures to the point that ice and frost would grow atop them. With more experimentation her creations would grow in complexity. Winnow would document the process for the creation of each of these objects.
Using the foundation from other buildings such as the Coldbox, and with funding from the CC, Winnow would create the architectural schematics and proofs for what would one day become the Clocktower before her passing.
Winnow's creations would lay the foundation for what would become Chronomancy. Her blueprints, notes and creations studied endlessly until the first magical formula to replicate their effects could be discovered.
