Thousand-point Star
Thousand-point Star is one of the strangest guilds in Antruin. It is the only guild to have more branch-offices than Echodrop and this is because each is staffed by only 1 person. In fact, it is the same person in all of them- Gerald Joalson. Thousand-point star, the Artefact, is a spiney bauble 6 inches across and has the ability to replicate its bonded owner once for each point it has. The guild has one purpose, to use the natural resources of Antruin to feed its people. This is harder than it sounds, there is no viable farmland within 20 miles of The Ether Spindle and even outside this range there are precious few farms willing to risk attacks from the monsters that pour forth from the Spindle.
The solution, according to Joalson at least, was to use the one resource in abundance in Antruin- the monsters themselves. Each branch experiments with the various monster carcasses that are brought to them, paying a small bounty for each one. Occasionally something both edible and delicious is found and an open order is left with the other guilds to supply creatures of that type to the various branches around Antruin. There is also a constant bounty on edible herbs and fungi from the surrounding area, some non-adventurers make a living foraging for Thousand-point Star.
Each branch is usually nothing more than a wooden shack with an area for preparation in the back (away from the eyes of the customers) and an order desk. Some have seating but generally these are the bigger resaurants.
Structure
All members are the same person and share experiences, thus there is no heirarchy, only Joalson.
Public Agenda
Feed Antruin without the need for external trade.
Assets
Thousand-point Star has a branch in every settlement larger than 10 people in Antruin and also runs a couple of Inns on the major roads in and out of the country.
History
Joalson started his restaurant in Lesk. He has always been interested in more exotic meats during his training and, sick of the prices charges by traders for bad-quality meat, Gerald paid an adventuring group to bring him the bodies of creatures to try and butcher. His experiments mostly failed, but one- Ankhrav leg, was found to be quite pleasant. With the first Antruin product on the menu, Joalson started plowing his profits into acquiring more and more meats from the Spindle and experimenting with more esoteric methods of preparation.
It was whilst he was trying to butcher a Roc that he found his Artefact. It was in the creature's stomach and glittered when he sliced the bird open. Upon discovering its powers, Gerald Joalson began to expand his business until his duplication was found out. He was told that, as he had found and bonded to an Artefact, he must start a guild and join the council, which he agreed to.
