Entering The Mausoleum revealed many of its once dead inhabitants to be wandering the corridors
Ultimately it was found that Strahan Runeshadow was behind their animation, as part of his attempts to secure 'immortal blood' from The Nameless One. His goal was to achieve lichdom.
The ensuing battle was dangerous, as the party had to contend with spells like Cloudkill, the latter felling Eilana in a single turn. Thankfully Deionarra's Blessing allowed TNO to raise Eilana from death.
The Ka-tet eventually defeated he and his minions, and following the battle discovered an object radiating dissonance on a nearby table. This object, whan grasped by Arvid, grew into a rapier named Gar Ordeith, its deadly blade edged with black flame.
The party also found a Gulthias Staff, Bracers of Defense +2, and a scroll of Ice Knife. Within a small trapped casket was the Diary of Strahan Runeshadow.
and returned to Norochj to let him know that that place of the dead was again at rest.
