Thenian Pantheon

The Thenian Pantheon are the order of Legendary Pokemon who the Thenia and Litan regions worship and venerate as the creators of life and the universe.   The Pantheon was introduced by the intermingling of stories swapped between native Thenians and Hisuian explorers who sought to expand the reach of Almighty Sinnoh. Further inspiration came as Thenia became a hotbed of culture, most notably taking inspiration from Unovan philosophers and the Draconid people.

Structure

The Creation Quartet:
"In the beginning, there was nothing, nobody, nowhere. And then, from pure entropy...nothing became something."
  • Prologue, The Book of the Ancients
  • The Creation Quartet are the highest and most esteemed members of the Pantheon of Thenia, credited with the creation of the universe itself. Arceus is credited with the creation of creation itself, the original Pokemon and ancestor of all Pokemon. Its children were tasked with creating the building blocks of the universe and creation: Dialga the creator of time, Palkia the lord of the cosmos, and Giratina the original avatar of balance via antimatter.   Giratina's violent tendencies put it in direct opposition with its creator, and it attempted to rebel against Arceus. However, it was thwarted by its brethren. Judged in the first Trial, Giratina was cast down to the Distortion World for its sins, where it silently watched the Pokemon World, waiting for the opportunity to return.   The Alignments:
"From impassioned Zekrom, we gained our conviction. From fair Reshiram, we derived our truth. And from stoic Kyurem, we hold our self-preservation."
  • Dante Canti
  • Also known as the Tao Trio in Unova, the Alignments are considered part of the Greater Pantheon. Thenian mythology attributes their influence to the moral givings of man. Several Thenian scholars believe that at one time, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyrem were once one dragon, known simply as the Judicator. Myths around the Judicator are confusing, with theories ranging from it being a Unovan legendary to it being the fourth child of Arceus, made to replace Giratina.
