Kainga Whenua

A large island nation to the south of Chulweyné. It is an untouched country of beautiful hills, snow-capped mountains, and glistening lakes. Ancient creatures such as saber-toothed tigers and giant moa birds still stalk the land. Various fortified settlements dot the frontier, each with its own tribal leader. The only major city of Kaiga Whenua is the keep of Highlake.
A king rules over all the tribes of the Iwi, as they so call themselves. They are the people of Io, the great creator god. Promised to them in the afterlife is Hawaiki, a warm and pleasant paradise island in the Astral Sea. 
In the year 1420 HE, an ancient black dragon rose from his dormancy and overtook a portion of the southern part of the nation. His army of followers included evil humanoids, sea trolls, and undead that the powerful dragon had raised himself. A mass exodus of many fleeing refugees have been scattered to other places such as Aljabar and Serpentine, The City of a Thousand Roads.
