Ekubis

Ekubis, city of ravages. Native to the Hazfen before the Hazfen Empire rose, the people prospered in the harsh southern Deathless Dunes. 
Early in the fourth era, Burgeonend emissaries arrived at the city and announced their opportunity to join the empire. Refusing the Burgeonend, the people did well on their own. Offers became intimidations from the empire and the city folded under the magical might of just the emissaries alone. 
Far too weak to even rebel the people turned to darker magics. The mystery of what deals they brokered, or taboos they broke, are unknown still, as the clues are now guarded by demons of the abyss who poured forth one day and slaughtered Hazfeni and locals alike. 
Before the event the city held five hundred people and expansive farms in the rocky terrain, they were proficient hunters and many paths to the Screeching Mountains or the western edge of the Rhedsy Woods still exist.
