A mysterious gift

In Session 3: Birthday Party! Report, Natsu received a mysterious dark crystal ball as a Booze Boon at The church of Olidammara.
This orb turns out to be Vecna's Orb, an artifact crafted by the now deceased goddess of secrets, and possesses superb scrying abilities.  Most notably, it does not show current events; instead it shows the most recent event of significant import.
