OttL Session 3: Birthday Party! Report

General Summary

The party arrives in Polaris just as the sun is starting to set. The city has no airship dock so the bipeds debark by way and the quadrupeds do so by way of magic carpet. Hobbs very much enjoys his experience "flying the floor". Once at The church of Olidammara. Memento Vitae asks for water, and Hobbs attempts to secretly swap his drink out for booze while he isn't looking. Hobbs gets caught, but while Memento Vitae is distracted talking to him about that the barkeep actually does swap his drink. Ignacio Icarsus meditates quietly. Natsu drinks for the first time, has a rough go of it, and then promptly asks for something else. She is given something much stronger, and proceeds to pass out. She has a strange vision of a woman in a glass coffin suspended in the center of Sigil, and sees her firing a rifle at a small Kenku girl. As the kenku's head explodes, Natsu awakes. Memento Vitae spots his sister Memento Ipsum, after some extended sibling banter where they both yell at each other for being where they are, Vitae realizes nobody is watching the airship. He and Thaiva Phenol go check on the ship, which is fine. Memento Ipsum follows, and reveals that she has contracted the Moon Plague. She says she contracted it from her boyfriend Amadeus, a werewolf bard currently in prison after having turned himself in for spreading the Moon Plague to her. This was entirely accidental, as Amadeus was convinced he was immune to the disease due to his pre-existing Therianthropy. He has asked Memento Ipsum to travel to Moonbrook and tell them not to come looking for him, and Memento Ipsum passes that mission on to Memento Vitae. They go back to the church, where Memento Ipsum meets the rest of the party. Memento Ipsum excitedly realizes this is an opportunity to give away some very old Booze Boons, gifting Natsu a dark purple crystal ball and Hobbs a letter containing the following image:

After the ensuing chaos settles down, the party travels to the prison for an extended conversation with Amadeus. Highlights include:

Amadeus freaks out when he sees Hobbs, and ends up transforming into a hybrid wolf form. Memento Ipsum was prepared for this and knocks him out with some sleep bolts.
Memento Vitae pushes the sleeping Amadeus back into the cell, getting copious amounts of drool all over his hand.
The guard sees this, but some quick lying from Natsu prevents anyone from getting in trouble.
Memento Vitae and Memento Ipsum leave to check him for infection. Hobbs makes drunken conversation with the guard.
The remaining three (Thaiva Phenol, Ignacio Icarsus, Bosgosho) fail to convince Amadeus to seek a release from prison. He does not want to leave his cage until after he "gets his head straight".
He was apparently close friends with Hobbs, but refuses to say how they know each other. He apparently thought Hobbs was dead, and was terrified to see a ghost of his past appear so suddenly.
Amadeus also admits that he only asked Memento Ipsum to go to Moonbrook because he wanted them to protect her and keep her from leaving. He is terrified she will be persecuted for her condition
The party talks Amadeus out of this plan, and he gives them a small medallion that can be left outside of Luna Woods. This will get the intended message to his people without anyone having to actually travel there.

Back at Memento Ipsum's house, Memento Vitae gets tested for Moon Plague. His earlier constitution save to prevent getting infected hit the DC exactly, so he very narrowly avoided contracting the Moon Plague
