OttD Session 11: Disgruntled Avians

General Summary

The party arrives at Penguin's home and have a brief chat with him and Ophelia. Ophelia sends two slaves out on errands - one to find someone who will sell foresight to Pestle and another to buy food. The slaves looked suspiciously like Penguin, but nobody questions this. Vun Roade also receives a mark from Penguin, and has it placed on his chest. They then go shopping. Vun Roade is given a Flame Tongue sword as payment for his servitude. Pestle acquires herbs. The party then proceeds to the canal district, where Penguin said there was some "dissenters" that needed a beat down. They encounter three kenku: A beefy one, a sneaky one, and a magical one. The party sustains serious injuries; Tornac and Vun Roade both falling unconscious repeatedly, but thanks to some efficient healing from Pestle nobody ever has to roll death saves. After the fight, Vun Roade and Pestle acquire a bit of gold from looting corpses. Pestle also finds a note in a language he does not understand, and Tornac retrieves two items from the wizard: a snake-headed staff and a small red stone. The party then sees a further six or seven kenku approaching their position, and retreat to a safe house for the night, provided by Penguin.
