Pestle

Pestle, a warforged druid, was created by dwarven architects to preserve the forests of the land as a peace offering between two guilds long ago. Though the guilds did fade, Pestles remarkable engineering did not. With nobody to command him, he would stray from the forest from time to time, learning the outsides and meeting new people. He was created with the ability to manufacture healing salves and potions.  In odd contrast with the forest, the warforgeds lawful nature brings a sort of order to the chaotic trees. He was built with the intention of honesty and helpfulness. His dark-oak skin is imprinted with granite armor that helped him not fall in the case of combat and two small emeralds mimic eyes that flash in the sun.   He was a significant figure in The Age of Mortality, fighting alongside the other The Celestial/Murderers to put Penguin in power in Avernus.  He participated Ragnarok, but did not see it through to the end.  He eventually discovered he could escape by committing suicide in Rainy Grove, after which Izar and some other Unicorns reincarnated pestle into the new Baduhenna.

His stomach is actually a sort of compartment where he keeps his herbalism supplies, and contains enough utilities within to brew healing potions and antitoxins.

Personal history

A long time ago, there was an Elven guild by the name of Serenity. The guild controlled most of the Elegant Grassland, but their most treasured territory was a small forest along the Virlem River by the name of Rainy Grove. Deep within the forest was a sacred tree named Baduhenna. It was gifted to the elves by Corellon Larethian, the whimsical god of art and magic.   Further north, nestled among some mountains only a day's journey east of Polaris, was a dwarven guild known as the Gravelbraids. The Gravelbraids were tinkers and inventors, and created many great works. Unfortunately, in order to fuel their machines they consumed a great deal of resources, including trees. One day the Dwarven guild, working well beyond their normal borders, chopped down the Baduhenna. The Gravelbraids decided to make peace with Serenity by using Baduhenna's wood to create a warforged automaton named Pestle. The dwarves give Pestle to the head druid, an old woman named Alloralla Heilar.   Pestle didn't have any druidic power at first, he was a simple soulless automaton. Seeing this, Alloralla figured performed a spell to recall the Baduhenna's soul into Pestle. Under Alloralla's guidance, Pestle eventually learned to be a druid. He started with simple chores like maintaining plants and cleaning, and eventually she let him explore his love for potion-making as that is what the dwarves had originally created him for. One day Alloralla had to go on a business venture to represent the druids of her guild, and she decided to bring Pestle along to give him political experience and generally be her second.   It was another meeting with the Gravelbraids. During the dinner, Alloralla slumped over, dead of a poisoned meal. The dwarves at the time did not consider Pestle to be a threat, figuring he was a simple construct, so they mocked him and sent him on his way. He returned to Serenity and explained what happened. This caused war to break out between the two guilds. No guild cared to ask Pestle for help in the chaos, so he simply resided in Alloralla's house and took care of the plants like he used to. Months passed before the fighting stopped. With time, all of the buildings torn asunder by the war began to be reclaimed by the forest. So Pestle, with nobody to command him, decided to watch the forest on his own will. New towns sprung up around Rainy Grove but none in the overgrown ruins of the battle themselves.   One day, he discovered trees were being cut down by residents of Kilead at an alarming rate. He went to the town, but failed to even meet with the mayor, let alone convince him to resolve the problem. Pestle meets Sconce on the very same day, happily strolling to the market place and speaking to the local children. The local townsfolk inform Pestle that Sconce is an incredibly generous man, and so he shouts over to him:   "Sconce! I hear of your generous ways and the places you've traveled, could you take a minute to hear of my cause?"   Sconce listens carefully to Pestle's tale, and for some reason appears to take even greater offense to the tree cutting than Pestle had. In only three days, Sconce convinced the mayor to issue a decree restricting how many trees could be cut down. Rumor has it that he bribed the mayor a considerable sum of money to make this happen.
