OttL Session 22: Kicking Lolth out of Duncat

General Summary

The session picks up a couple hours where they left off, after having had a great deal of RP chat between session during their short rest. They discussed a great many things with the Moon Plague patients assembled there, including the finer points of how the plague works, the events in Xumasha, and general theorizing about The World of Forms. Memento Vitae stays behind at the tavern to help Lenora, Amadeus, Caerbor, and Ipsum prepare for the incoming refugees. Vannis arrives, having finally recovered from his air sickness, and helps the others (Natsu, Hobbs, Thaiva, and Ignacio) clear the remainder of the dungeon.
On the first floor fight another pair of Mezzoloths in the barracks, one of whom escapes, before continuing to search the store room. Natsu is listening to somebody talking in infernal when Vannis discovers a weird box, which Hobbs subsequently picks up and turns out to be a mimic. Once that encounter is done the party goes through the door and have a fight with a succubus and incubus disguised as Kiri and Caerbor, respectively. The bodies do not bleed, which appears to be the result of Bath Potions, which the party finds ten of on one of the bodies. Natsu later drinks one.
After taking a short rest in the tavern with the others, the party proceeds upstairs. The second floor is full of spiders, including a swarm of phase spiders and a swarm of neogi. They also encounter a second store room. On this floor they loot a greater healing potion, a love potion (which Ignacio immediately smashes on the ground), and an assortment of gemstones. They also identify the staff that was found in the possession of the mezzoloth statue. It is a staff of the woodlands, usable only by druids, and is therefore given to Vannis.
On the third floor, inside an old temple of Bahamut, the party encounters some drow followers of Lolth. These are murdered with extreme prejudice. Some holy texts and symbols dedicated to Lolth are found and subsequently burned. Hobbs also obtains a small bag of fuzzy objects, and when he throws one it turns into a sapient ape. Across the hall is a weapons shop where Natsu obtains a dozen mundane daggers and Hobbs finds a strange hammer which has a keg of booze where the hammerhead should be.
The party returns to the tavern with the others, and takes a short rest. After some small talk with the party from Moonbrook, Memento Ipsum takes both Natsu and Hobbs into a back room and chains them up, so that they can attempt to intentionally trigger their first transformations early. It is at this time that the party learns what happened when Natsu and Hobbs touched the sabre-toothed tiger corpse in the previous session: both of them were infected, and both received the same form of infection. Both members of the party are now displacer beasts. Hobbs is an entirely feral displacer beast, while Natsu retains her capacity of speech and is in a sort of hybrid form that resembles her normal feral form with the addition of two more legs and back tentacles. Both retain control of their actions, which Natsu immediately uses to teleport directly into Thaiva Phenol and scare the shit out of her. Hobbs does not yet understand his new body, so Memento Ipsum unchains him herself and leads him in with the others.
The remainder of the session is spent on incidental small talk, during which both Kiri and Nihilo enter the room, having arrived early to help set up for the remaining refugees. Kiri arrives with a raven, which she says is named Luna, on her shoulder. This is apparently her Moon Plague self given its own body to inhabit.
