Thaiva Klaedris (Tai-va clay-dris)
Duchess Thaiva Phenolic Klaedris
Thaiva Klaedris lived estranged from her family for most of her life, running away at 14 after a particularly traumatic event with her father Alibor Klaedris. She returned only for Izar to ask House Klaedris for help or work in an attempt to resurrect Nihilo to deal with the artifact known as Dave.
She reunited with her brother, Caerbor Klaedris in Duncat and brought him on the crew, becoming captain of Barry the Airship shortly after. This ultimately brought enough confidence in herself to return to Montia and slay Ectraph Acdri in the rebellion organized by her sister, Hinfyire Soriel. Thaiva now rules over the Duchy of Ukapia as Duchess.

Personal history
The youngest child hatched to retired Colonel, Alibor Klaedris and his wife Dryxora, Thaiva was babied and protected from the beginning. She looked up to all of her siblings. The oldest, brother Kilfras Klaerdris, then her sister Hinfyire Klaedris, brothers Caerbor Klaedris and Zarinn Klaedris. But she was certainly closest to Zarinn.
Thaiva strove to learn more than her tutors were willing to teach her, and than her father was willing to let her know, so she rebelled early, Zarinn happily teaching her how he was being trained to fight. How to handle a sword and shield, how to speak with authority. She envied him, both the way he thrived in this life and his glinting silver scales. He always told her that no dragonborn should wish to be another. "We are as we are, no matter what. You should wish to be good and just to the end of your days. That... is a worthwhile venture."
Her parents hoped she'd grow out of her rebellion, and tried many different interests and hobbies to hold her attention. It rarely worked, but she let them try. Alibor often grumbled that not even the boys were ever so difficult while her mother simply shook her head with a dragonborn smile.
Zarinn died not long after Thaiva's 14th birthday. 22 years of age, killed on duty to protect a visiting diplomat from an assassination attempt.
Alibor's strict and overbearing behavior intensified. He began having outbursts to the point that Kilfras and Caerbor began living at the barracks. Recently married Hinfyire stopped visiting so often. Thaiva was suddenly alone, scared, and angry. Angry at her father. Angry at the bastard who killed her brother. Angry at the rest of her siblings for leaving her and their mother to deal with their father's changing personality.
After a violent outburst from her father that nearly killed her, she packed what she could and fled. Anywhere far enough away that even if her family searched for her, they'd be unlikely to actually find her. She can't say that she intended to stay away forever... but ultimately life on the sea, or in the air... it was more than she ever hoped for. She finally felt free.
It was hard work, but she was always a quick learner as long as someone could show her. Over time the softer flesh of her palms and feet grew thick with callouses, she defended and proved herself time and time again and never looked back to the life she'd lived before.
She lived on the sea and visited her land bound lover, Arianna Weskey, whenever she had the chance. They lived this way for years before Thaiva started to consider settling down with her on the coasts of Keridland. Arianna's brother, a half elf named Chaze, was also a sailor, and would stay with her between voyages. Returning from a trip to Esma with a few new scars, Arianna doted over him and Thaiva finally got to meet the boy just in time to begin preparation for her next voyage. October 1 738. That evening, returning from the ship and set to sail by the end of the next day, she returned to a commotion inside the house and drew her sword. Inside, blood. Blood and a blink dog that noticed her as she readied her weapon.
It teleported close to her, mouth open to bite, and essentially ran itself onto her sword in its frenzy. Thaiva dropped her sword and let it fall, letting it die as she ran inside to find Arianna's body laying in the doorway to her bedroom. Her cries in that moment, cradling the most important thing in the world to herself, brought the neighbors.
She stayed long enough to discover the creature had been a transformed Chaze, that she was lucky to be uninfected, and to attend the funeral. Her captain had been understanding, and she got an easy recommendation with one of their friends. So a week later she boarded with a new crew, with the odd addition of iron bands on the arms and neck to her wardrobe. She traveled with Izar until his retirement, taking his place as captain though she felt unready. This ultimately led her and the crew through a number of events. The death of Memento Vitae, the liberation of Shippo, the defense of Polaris from The Dagda's forces. She grew into the position and aided in the decision to banish Vecna, watched Natsu rise to godhood, and took her own position as Duchess of Ukapia after the rebellion that ended with the death of Ectraph Acdri and Ulmec Soriel taking his place as king of Montia.

Education
Her education was cut short due to her running away. She had private tutors from the age of 3 until she left at 14 and knows a lot of basic history, math, and was fairly well read in both common and draconic.
Since taking her title she has gone to learn elvish, orc, infernal, and undercommon for mostly diplomatic reasons.
Employment
She has a long and varied record of employment. Most of which went through word of mouth from captain to captain.
She then worked for Izar on Barry the airship, took position as Captain after a while, and is now Duchess of Ukapia.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Gained a level of respect on the only pirate crew she ever worked with. A young man had been harassing her and then attacked her so she beat him with a belaying pin.
She beat one of her captains in a game of liar's dice. Breaking their year long winning streak.
Defended Polaris from The Dagda's attempted genocide on Moon Plague patients. Took part in preventing The attempted assasination of Kilfras. Spoke with the Divine Council about Lolth being Vecna and her plot to take Nihilo's place next, ultimately leading to her banishment. Took part in the rebellion of Montia and beheaded Ectraph Acdri.

Failures & Embarrassments
The first and only time she slipped in the rigging, she wound up tangled in the ropes so badly she had to be cut free.
Not being in the home to prevent the death of Arianna Klaedris.
Being unable to do anything when Arrius killed their friend, Memento Vitae.
Mental Trauma
Her closest brother died when she was young, and brought her already strict parents down on her even harder. Her father nearly killed her, leading to her running away.
She found the woman she loved dead, killed by her brother who'd unknowingly caught the Moonplague while he'd been in Esma, who she'd also killed in self defense.
Watched her friend, Memento Vitae be disintegrated by Arrius.
Morality & Philosophy
Very live and let live. But she won't hesitate to retaliate against anyone who infringes on her, her family, or her people.
She has little patience for bigotry and will too gladly send shitty diplomats home with soiled trousers.
Taboos
Never harm a child. Hit a child in front of her and you'll likely lose your hand. It's one of her only hair triggers.
General bigotry.
