PlugCat

The PlugCat is a ferocious semi-aquatic feline, believed to haunt the coastal regions and large bodies of water of The Marsh.
For a long time the existence of PlugCats was denied by Guvn0r, with the only evidence based on wild anecdotal reports and unclear footage. PlugCats were best known as the monsters of cautionary tales used to deter LBN juveniles from venturing beyond the BlastWalls. Guvn0r eventually acknowledged their reality after hacked drone recordings of a heavily armed FED patrol getting annihilated by an adult female briefly became a hit on Hive.
Despite its recognition as a species, no PlugCat has ever been captured for analysis and physical remains have yet to be recovered. It is speculated that PlugCats are unlikely to be a native species to LBN, and are possibly disoriented migrants from an unidentified landmass that have established small breeding populations.
PlugCats present as great powerfully muscled felines with an oily black skin displaying multiple aquatic adaptations. These include oversized webbed paws, a long spined dorsal ridge terminating in a finned tail and bulging lidless eyes, likely suited to nocturnal and deep water hunting. The females sport a distinctive crest which becomes rigid when angered.
Equally efficient in water and on land, PlugCats are believed to supplement their diet with giant eel spawn and stray JumBucks.
Reported PlugCat encounters are mercifully uncommon. Due to their largely nocturnal activity and ability to remain submerged for long periods of time they are rarely sighted until it’s too late, making population estimates unreliable.
