Dhussin

Dhussin is one of the ten regions in the Eleazarian Empire. It is located at the West of the Empire, bordering the Western Wildlands. Amongst the inhabitants of the Empire it is also called The Ram's Rift.
After Kadmiels Conquest, Dhussin Ustedson declared himself ruler over the povince by the grace of Kadmiel. He kept the governing structure of its inhabitants, mainly dwarves at the time and structured the vast network of family clans around his own bloodline. During his lifetime he ruled like a king over the clans. Nowadays the province has a clan council system, much like the Senate. There are currently three dwarven clans claiming direct lineage from the Dhussin clan: the Venitsch from Lesnoy, the Sidorov from Rodnik and the Belyaev from Kradzkarath.
Dhussins capital is the city Kradzkarath in the former center of the province. Since the loss of the lands of Weresoc due to The Eleven Year War, the city is now located at the eastern borden of Dhussin, only separated by the Inner Mountains from Weresoc.
The Elven Year war had special significance for Dhussin, since the Emperor declared war against their province. Hoping to secure economically important gem mines quickly, the Emperor sent two legions into the plains of Eastern Dhussin. The inital assault of 713 AKC was haltet quickly by Dhussin forces. After that the war came to a standstill - with occasional ineffective assaults from both sides. The toll of lives during the eleven years was absolute. It is estimated that up to 20% of Dhussins population was killed during the eleven years of warfare. 724 AKC a peace deal was brokered, which saw the plains of northeastern Dhussin taken from Dhussin and turned into a new province of the Empire, named Weresoc. After the war Dhussin officials were amongst the first to take up diplomatic relations with the newly found province of Weresoc.
The province lost big parts of its original territory, namely the food producing plainlands. Dhussin is therefore at the moment dependent on food imports from Dragons Cradle and Zilpartha. Its main export are gems, spell gems and rare metals as well as forged goods.
