Dragons Cradle

Dragon's Cradle is one of the ten regions in the Eleazarian Empire. It is located in the North of the Empire, bordering the northern mountain range.
Dragon's Cradle derives its name from the ancient dragons that lived in the northern mountains. Legend has it that Magrene the Red descended upon the people of the Assurian Basin from these mountains. After Kadmiels Conquest his followers, under the banner of Abiel Hezekiah marched north and killed the remaining dragons. As a warning to all dragonkind castles were erected along the mountain range. In the decades after Kadmiels death, many more dragons tried to invade the Empire, but all were repelled by the garrisons in Dragons Cradle. Even today, the people of Dragons Cradle embrace a warrior culture.
The population consists mainly of Humans. A small minority of Dragonsborns exist, but these people normally are heavily discriminated and live mostly secluded lives at the edge of society.
The province is ruled by four Dukes, each in charge of defending parts of the northern mountains. The most important Duke is Ingran Boric, even though he is officially equal to his peers. Duke Boric is also is the legal guardian of Princess Damara Eleazar. The young princess has resided in Dragons Cradle since her eleventh names day.
Dragons Cradle has historically good relations with Dhussin and Philleas. During The Eleven Year War Dragons Cradle, even though it supported the Emperor, took very little part in the fighting. This was justified with its long defensive border in the North and the need to maintain a bastion against invading dragons - even though the last dragon attack dates 200 years back.
