Nedabis

Nedabis is one of the ten regions in the Eleazarian Empire. It is located in the North of the Empire. It has borders with Dragons Cradle, Cora Tellus, Zilpartha as well as the territory of the Orcs in the North.
Nedabishas has, similar to Dragons Cradle, a long mountain range as northern border, as well as a line of defensive castles. But unlike Dragons Cradle the mountain range is not as high and difficult to cross. This led to many attacks in the past, mainly by the northern orc tribes. So far Nedabis has repelled all attempts to invade the Empire, but has lost a great part of its population in the last century.Nowadays many cities, mines and farms are maintained by undead, controlled by a single wizard that governs a district of Nedabis.Necromancy is the leading source of magic in Nedabis. This has been tradition for more than 700 years. But the decay of the undead and the overall lack of manpower is a constant threat to the weakening economy of Nedabis. Therefore, diplomats from Nedabis have tried in the past to "recruit" dead or terminally ill inhabitants from other regions within the Empire.
After Kadmiels Conquest his close friends and army generals decided that the Empire still needs protection from the threads of the North. They decided to send Sheloh Nedabiah to rebuild the war ridden and sparsely populated region. A task that he fulfilled for more than 200 years, until he vanished one day without a trace. Since then a council of wizards governs the region.
During The Eleven Year War Nedabis, lacking manpower, could not send many fighters to the aid of the Empire, even though it supported the Emperors judgement unconditionally. After the Emperors death, his widow Queen Elisheba Eleazar fled with his embalmed corpse to Nedabis. Her wish, to revieve the Emperor has yet to be fulfilled. Persistent rumours indicate that the necromancers of Nedabis could very well revive the dead Emperor but choose not to.
