The Primordials: An Overview

Sar'ni'valum inkr'ii ze'miil'lum olv...szh'krul'val.   A truly wondrous, great bursting of heat and light...the beginning of reality as we know it to be.   Literal Rough Translation: Reality, the beginning of, in a light and heat of wonder, a bursting of creation.
Ancient Demon Lukiin'virai'niir. The Myths of Creation. Ancient 7th Line, Generation "Recorders", circa 306 million years ago.
They who were among the first of concepts to emerge from the Singularity Bursting. They who weaved the very fabrics of this Universe, creating the fundamentals to allow the Universe to exist, omniscient and omnipotent, the 5 Primordials of the Universe.   The Primordial Deities (sometimes called the Fundamental Deities), are the most powerful beings in the Universe. The Primordials are the sentient manifestations of the concepts that are fundamental to keeping this Universe intact, i.e. what unifies is it.   The Primordials came into being immediately following the Singularity Bursting event. There are only 5 Primordials, each one wielding a unique mantle to themselves. These mantles, often called the Mantels of Creation, are figurative responsibilities of the containment of knowledge relating to Creation itself. As such, these 5 particular mantles can only be wielded by a Primordial, and can never be passed down. With their knowledge of their unique mantles, when the 5 came together, they were able to merge their powers and create out almost nothingness, the fabrics of reality.   At the close of the Creation Eon, when the Universe had reached self-sustenance, the Primordials began to go their separate ways, leaving much of the rest of universal tasks to the Elementals. But, once the Universe reached self-sustenance, there came many arguments whether the Universe should be left alone, or if the Primordials should continue their nurturing of the Universe. This led to the creations of the Factions of Chaos, Neutral, and Order.   The Chaotic Faction believes that the Universe, once it sustained self-sustenance without their intervention, should be left to be, to grow on its own, however chaotic it may be. The Faction of Order believes the opposite: that the Universe should be systematic, and that the 5 should continue in their nurturing. The Neutral Faction cares for neither, often staying away from the turmoils the Chaos and Order faction create. Many deities under the Primordials belong to one of three factions, each faction led by a Primordial.   Each Primordial is also said to have a unique, divine domain, two of which are proven to be real: Paradiso (Heaven) and Infernus (Hell). Within these two divine domains, calling it their home worlds, are angels and demons. Both species are products of their Primordial fathers.

Interactions with Mortals

The Primordials once interacted with mortals, early in their history. Most notably is Ri'ful'dan, who has always taken an interest in mortals, appearing several times to them of his own accord. For the most part however, the 5 are largely unknown to the people on Earth, and exist only through myth or faith, that is, until they die.   When a mortal dies, they have the chance to live once more in a divine domain. Most of the time, these second chances are granted to those who didn't get to live full lives, or those who lived malicious lives. Only then can a Primordial, or any deity for that matter, interact once more with mankind if they so wish.

The 5

In both Angelic and Demon myths of creations, tales tell of the order in which the Primordials emerged. Both versions tell the same order of appearance.

The First, Chronos

Chronos is the 1st emerged of the Primordials and is the sentient manifestation of the concept of Time. As such, Chronos wields the Mantle of Time, wielding knowledge of all things pertaining to time. It is unknown as to what powers come with wielding knowledge pertaining to time, as Chronos has never been recorded in performing any such feats of power. However, a general unsupported consensus is that, by simply existing, Chronos is indeed showing power, and that all but him can perceive it properly.   Chronos is the founder of the Faction of Neutrality. During Primordial Manifestation, he took form of a bright purple wisp. There exists no imagery of Chronos in any pantheon; the only depictions being texts; "a great and divine being, faceless and wielding his mantle in one hand, an ethereal, round, and divine clock in the other." These texts have led to many personal depictions of Chronos by many famous artists.   It is unknown where Chronos makes his domain. Some believe that he has a domain that exists outside of time, and in turn, reality. Others say that Chronos stays within the mortal realm, a great overseer of all things that happened, are happening, and are to happen. As such, it is said that Chronos is the "great knower of all things."   Chronos has no following, neither in the mortal realm, nor to a divine realm.

The Second, Zan'nal'takriin (The Great Devil)

Zan'nal'takriin is the 2nd Emerged of the Primordials and is the sentient manifestation of the concept of Chaos and Entropy. Zan'nal'takriin wields the Mantle of Chaos and Entropy, wielding knowledge of all things relating to both. He is the founder of the Chaos Faction and of Infernus, where for eons he made his rule. Besides his role of Universal Creation and foundings, Zan'nal'takriin is also the Father of Demons and Devils.   Zan'nal'takriin has made appearances many times. He has both demon and devil form. The former is a great and terrible form: "with the skull of a baphomet with great horns protruding, and with the body of man, a cloak of darkness beneath him." Zan'nal'takriin's devil form is more humanoid while retaining his divine appearance of power.   Being that he created the Faction of Chaos, Zan'nal'takriin is enemies with Ri'ful'dan. This has led to many fights between each other, angels and demons, as well as factions against factions. The Great Devil also has very little interests in mortals (humans on Earth), and is viewed by them as a great punisher for their sins, as wrong as they are.   After the 4th Holy War, Zan'nal'takriin was banished to an unknown domain due to his actions that nearly tore apart the Universe.

The Third, Ri'ful'dan (God)

Ri'ful'dan, better widely known as God, is the 3rd emerged of the Primordials and is the sentient manifestation of the concept of Order and The Holy. Ri'ful'dan wields the Mantle of Order and The Holy, and all knowledge pertaining to both. Ri'ful'dan is the founder of the Faction of Order, and as such, is Zan'nal'takriin's bitter rival. Paradiso (Heaven, as mortals call it), is where Ri'ful'dan and his angels reside. Ri'ful'dan has a deep interest in mortals, and has appeared to them numerous times throughout their history.   To mortals, Ri'ful'dan is depicted as a perfect being that bestows upon them his love and good graces. Outside the mortal realm, Ri'ful'dan takes an appearance of a celestial seraph.   After the 4th Holy War, Ri'ful'dan was banished to an unknown domain due to his actions that nearly tore apart the Universe.

The Fourth, The Great Enigma

The Great Enigma is the 4th emerged of the Primordials and is the sentient manifestation of the concept of Gravity. He wields the Mantle of Gravity. He is also said to wield another Mantle, a mantle of dark and unknown power.   The Great Enigma is depicted as a being of the void, dark and unobservable. But in truth, no one, not even the other of the 5 know of The Great Enigma's true form, save his wisp form as he is able to bend light, hiding his true appearance. Many artists have tried their hands at depicting The Great Enigma, but none will ever truly know what this being looks like.   There are only wild theories as to where The Great Enigma makes his domain. Among these theories is that he lives in the oldest black hole in the Universe, and that he and he alone knows what happens inside darkest darkness of the Universe.   The Great Enigma holds a deep hatred for both Zan'nal'takriin and Ri'ful'dan. He also has no interest in neither chaos nor order. As enigmatic as he is, most place him in the Neutral Faction.

The Fifth

The Fifth, as it has never revealed its true name, is the final emerged of the Primordials. The Fifth is an oddity, as it exhibits a power that seems to retract and repulse all things, among many others. Many believe that the wisp is the sentient manifestation of the concept of electromagnetism.   The Fifth has appeared many times, his only form of that of the ethereal wisp form it took during Primordial Manifestation. This has led to many also simply calling The Fifth "The Wisp."   The Wisp cannot speak in any other language other than that of its coded language, which can only be understood by a Primordial.   Like Chronos, and The Great Enigma, it's unknown as to where the Fifth makes its domain. The Fifth does however, roam the cosmos, as told by various accounts from each pantheon.

Primordial Power

Among all deities, The Primordials are the most powerful, capable of bringing the end of reality itself. In addition to the Mantles of Creation they wield, each Primordial also holds a variety of other mantles of concepts. Concepts that the 5 decided were too dangerous for even the Elementals to wield. No one knows for sure what these Mantles are, there are only speculations. The fact that they've remained hidden since the Universe's founding has led many to believe that these powers may even surpass the known Mantles the 5 wield.   It's unknown if a Primordial can be killed. They are however, not completely indestructible. During the 4th Holy War, both Zan'nal'takriin and Ri'ful'dan beat each other's corporeal forms which reverted them back to their ethereal wisp forms. In this state, their powers became completely unrestricted and the two nearly destroyed the entire cosmos. This was only stopped when the The Fifth and Chronos became involved, The Fifth completely dissipating whatever powers the two Primordials had almost unleashed.   Each Primordial also has the power to single-handedly end the Universe if they truly wished to and were allowed. Each Primordial can bend reality to their liking, depending on their Mantle. For example, the The Fifth can bend reality itself, creating out seemingly nothingness, an entire solar system. Inversely, the Fifth can also destroy any form of matter it wishes. It's widely believed that the Primordials have no limit to their raw powers.

Author's Notes

So, I've been meaning to put this on my other articles but...well, anyways, the gibberish in the beginning quote is merely a placeholder for my conlang. Said gibberish will be replaced once I get a proper handle of my conlang (which is currently under construction).
