Bio-Sciences
At Raven's Keep, the Department of Bio-Sciences stands at the forefront of innovation, where the traditional boundaries of medicine are reimagined and expanded. Search for knowledge supersedes the rigidity of conventional medical and alchemical rules. Experimentation, while generally encouraged, does require Director approval. Additionally, any experimentation conducted on Ravens themselves is conducted under strict ethical guidelines: informed consent is required, ensuring that all participants are fully aware and agreeable to the procedures. The only inviolable rule within the department is the absolute prohibition of any research or practice that could endanger a Raven.
Structure
The organization is split in two sub-departments -- Health and Alchemy. While some members actively particpate in both, it's more common for members to have a singular title associated with the sub-department they are most closely aligned with.
Chief Medical Officer - Takes on a pivotal role, orchestrating clinical strategies and health initiatives that embody the department's innovative ethos. Beyond their administrative and strategic duties, the CMO is also tasked with the physical well-being of all members within the Bio-Sciences department. Senior Research Physician - Leads advanced medical research, venturing beyond traditional boundaries to uncover new methods and treatments that can benefit the department and the wider community of the Keep. Field Surgeon - Blends the latest in medical research with practical application, providing critical care in the field while also contributing to the development of new medical practices and emergency response techniques. Medical Researcher - Focuses on expanding the horizons of medical knowledge, dedicated to pushing the envelope of what's possible in medicine, with an eye towards applications that enhance member care and treatment. Wellness Coordinator - Advocates for and implements programs aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of the Keep's members, facilitating access to medical services and preventive care measures. Physician - Directly involved in the healthcare of community members, applying innovative medical solutions and research findings to patient care, supported by the broader research and development efforts within the department.
Master Alchemist - Leads the division in the creation of novel potions and alchemical substances, driving forward the alchemical research agenda with a focus on practical applications and benefits to the Keep. Principal Alchemical Researcher - Specializes in the exploration and development of cutting-edge alchemical theories and compounds, contributing to the division’s reputation for innovation. Potioneer - Expert in concocting potions that support health, enhance capabilities, and provide strategic advantages, embodying the practical side of the division's innovative research. Alchemical Technician - Plays a crucial role in the preparation, testing, and management of alchemical projects, ensuring the smooth execution of the division's innovative endeavors. Apprentice Alchemist - Engages in learning the foundational and advanced aspects of alchemy, aspiring to contribute to the division's culture of innovation and discovery.
