Lab Security

Director Uldin sits back at his desk, his deep blue eyes watching both newly minted Researchers as he speaks. "I am satisified with the satellite lab facility to continue the experiments Director Airheart is requesting. However, the situation with the neighborhood is not satisfactory. Supervisor Buksnix has kept me informed of the various factors. We must make some kind of resolution before things get out of hand. Since Director Airheart  puts great stock in your abilities, I'd like to hear your thoughts on Supervisor Buksnix's ideas." He hardly even looks at Bucket as he speaks, watching the two humans instead.   "Yeah, so the way I see it," Bucket starts, adjusting his goggles, "We got the Shattergang armed with Izzet weapons from an unknown source. And we got Krenko's Krew without a boss, and without any Izzet weapons. Both claim this lab is their turf, and if we don't pick a side, then we won't have protection from the other." He sighs, "We can support the Shattergang, and essentially help them wipe out Krenko's Krew. They already got Izzet weapons, so maybe tossing a couple Izzet experiments into the mix and researchers to 'observe' will end this gang war." Bucket pauses, obviously uncomfortable with the idea.   "Or we help Krenko's Krew, and level the playing field. We do that by finding out how the Shattergang is getting Izzet weapons and stop that from happening. Or we start helping them with our own weapons, and put them on equal footin'. Either way it gives Krenko's Krew incentive to ensure our lab remains on the map."   Uldin chimes in, "I am interested in where this Shattergang is getting Izzet weapons. If they are stolen, or being handed out by another lab, Director Airheart would be grateful for that knowledge. But I also believe it might be easier to just let the side that is already winning achieve a decisive victory."   Bucket frowns, "Yeah, but them Shattergang boys, they are ambitious as hell. For a while they may be content with us on their turf, but they might turn against us when they get bored or if someone convinces them its a good idea. I much rather keep Krenko's Krew around so that they keep each other busy. But that is just my gut talking to me."   "What are your thoughts gentlemen? Does one plan sound better over the other, or maybe you have a different idea?" Uldin asks obviously expecting an answer.
