Director Airheart is known for her brilliant advances in magic/technological fusions, as well as her ability to explain herself clearly to just about anyone. Gertrudt has been known to tangle others in a web of words, and then cut them down verbally. It has gained her many admirers and rivals. Because of her excellent communication skills, it is said that the dragon takes her advice to heart. But others claim that her skills at oration is the only reason the Niv-Mizzet has her around.
Unfortunately, her role as advisor and skill in politicking means that the two labs under her (Laboratory of Plasma-Dermitology and the Laboritory of Gravitational Inversion ) actually functions fairly independently from her. This usually isn't a problem, but lately several public accidents have called Director Airheart's role into question. It does no one any good when Azorius and Boros start sniffing around because one neighborhood is flooded with noxious gas, and another experiences reversed gravity for a half hour. Director Airheart has tried to shift focus back to the lab, but concerns with the board keep pulling her away. Luckily she has a trusted partner in Researcher Azala Yazen.
