In the late 15th century DR, Phandalin emerged as a simple town crafted by industrious frontiersfolk upon the remains of the ancient Phandalin. Over time, it expanded to approximately fifty meticulously constructed buildings made from logs and flagstones, featuring three deep wells for a water source. The town's landscape included a prominent apple orchard to the west and a dilapidated manor situated atop an eastern hill. The community regularly gathered in a modest town square and the nearby town green.

History

The frontier town of Phandalin stands upon the remnants of an ancient settlement that flourished hundreds of years ago. Originally a prosperous human town, the residents enjoyed a strong alliance with neighboring dwarves and gnomes. However, the town faced devastation when an orc horde swept through the area, leading to its abandonment for centuries.   In recent years, settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have undertaken the challenging task of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin. The revitalized settlement now accommodates farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors attracted by tales of gold and platinum deposits in the foothills of the Sword Mountain
