Njord
Njord is a sea God, like Aegir. But where Aegir is the fury of the storm and the screams of dying men being pulled under, Njord is the bounty of fish, the fufilliment of trade, and the joy of skimming along the water to be brought home to kith and kin.
Njord is the ruler of the Vanir, and the father of Frey and Freyja and thus at once one of the most ancient of the Gods. It is he who negotiated the eventualy peace with Odin that united the Vanir and the Aesir, and he holds a place of respect among the other gods.
In image he usually appears as an elderly fisherman or sailor of healthy psychique and mirthful demeanor.
