The senior female servant in the House, responsible for oversight of all other female staff (except for the Companion or Governess, if there is one). Responsible for ensuring that the linens, draperies etc are maintained in good order, that the rooms are cleaned as needed, that the items needed for the kitchens (as specified by the Cook) are available, and that the female staff/servants (including housemaids, laundry, kitchen, dairy, and scullery) are cared for and protected from abuse.
She is also keeper of the household accounts, and carries a large keyring with all the household keys on it.
At the top of the household food chain were the housekeeper and butler. Not all houses have both, but those that do have two leaders each with different duties. Personality:
Mrs. Whitaker is a dwelf- which completely defines her personality, and at the same time is completely irrelevant to her life. A dwelf is a rare individual- uncommon to see in the world of Regencia, exemplifying a unique mix of the most sturdy and physically grounded of races with the most elegant, beautiful, and ethereal. This mix can turn out some of the most interesting AND messed up individuals. Mrs. Whitaker, however, has managed to create a respectable name for herself, lives in near racial anonymity (helped by her matrons bonnet that she wears, always, to cover her revealing ears), and (personally, rather than openly) enjoys the yin-yang parts of herself, reaping benefits from both bloodlines that she has put to her benefit over the years, moving from a very lowly position to the respectable, upper-lower class one she is in now.

Historically, Housekeepers wore dark dresses. Mrs. Whitaker, however, doesn't like black, much, and typically opts for solid, earthy toned-dresses of sensible fashion.
