Moonmist and Duststorm first met when Duststorm was failing at trying to hunt a moose. Moonmist came to his aid. I have no clue what else to add here because the first book of the MT has changed sooooooo much

Complement each other in the way that Moonmist thinks out her next moves thoroughly whereas Duststorm goes in headfirst. They keep each other in check on a hypothetical leash. Sometimes Moon over thinks and a lot of the time Duststorm rushes in.

Nightshadow and Duststorm are friendly towards each other. Although Nightshadow didn't approve of the way Duststorm treated Dragonfly, she still somewhat respected him before she died, and kept a happy face on for when Dragonfly was around.

History
Once Twilight used to look up to her father. She was inspired by him, and was a daddy's girl. But when Moonmist died, and Duststorm began to make poor decisions, Twilight realized how terrible he was. She refused to call him her dad once he started out right ignoring his son Dragonfly, and she began to challenge him for the position of Alpha of the Moon Pack. She begrudgenly stood by him during the War of No Moon, but went behind his back to share secrets with Scorpion, believing that Duststorm was in the wrong. It's not uncommon to see these two arguing. Duststorm often watches his daughter, and reminence about the time where they loved each other, and wonder what happened to the little puppy who'd he named after the night he proposed to his mate...
