Dive to the wreck of the Gray Goose. Report
General Summary
The Heroes acquired a scroll of waterbreathing from Henry Armitage and paid for ship’s passage from the Detroit harbor to the location of the wreck of the Gray Goose. After some searching the Heroes located the wreck and dove into the bay.
Almost immediately, the heroes were ambushed by a group of sharks. For a moment, the situation was dire, but the heroes prevailed. Darien found a cave opening in the sea floor, which led the Heroes to an underwater cave. In the cave they found the ruins of some structure (a temple?) and Benjamin Lawrence. Combat was initiated and in a half-minute Benjamin Lawrence’s body exploded in a black inky cloud. Thousands of small black lamprey-like worms then attacked the heroes. A pair of fireball spells thinned the lamprey’s numbers and again the Heroes prevailed.
Exploring the cave, the heroes found a disturbing construct /creature /device which seemed to be creating smaller Benjamin Lawrences. Five child-sized Benjamin Lawrences were found sleeping in niches in a crevice in the east wall of the cave. There were six empty niches. The Heroes destroyed everything to the best of their ability and waited a few hours to check if Benjamin Lawrence was reconstituting. At the end of their waterbreathing they saw no evidence of Benjamin Lawrence reforming and returned to the surface of the bay. Their ship was long gone, so they had to walk back to the harbor, using the waterwalk spell.
