Na'Anu'ko

Na'Anu'ko is the third eldest of the koroua according to the shared beliefs of the hakanu, spiritual daughter of Na'Rua and Ila'Ra. Na'Anu'ko is associated with the the earth, the land of Okaluan itself, her name meaning 'Grandmother of Holy Land' or 'Revered Lady of the Holy Land'.

Hakanu creation stories say that she was the daughter of Na'Rua and Ila'Ra. By Ila'Kana she is the mother of the Toru Jenu'ata, the three moons and by Ila'Makau of the hakanu people.

Worship

Rituals devoted to Na'Anu'ko are common in the lives of the Talani'i. Offerings are made to her at feasts of products from the land and at times of planting, harvest, culling, birth and death.

Na'Anu'ko is called upon by the tukuoro only during important yearly ceremonies and in times of great need. She grants powers of healing and growth to the tukuoro who commune with her as well as the ability to rend and shake the earth.
