Rajan
Rajan is the position held by the ruler of a Raj. It is the traditional title of rulers of southern Utanar, including among the Eshtem before the rise of their powerful city-states before the cataclysm that led the survivors to flee across the ocean. After establishing themselves in Kalmasa, many of the great houses wrested territories from the Calmaxtec and established themselves as rajan. After the establishment of the Kalmasan Samraj Samraj, the position of rajan was relegated to that of provincial governor.
