Environmental Space of Resource Management
The Environmental Space of Resource Management is an artificial island built to be an international landfill as to prevent trash and pollution from damaging natural landmasses. The island can process and convert trash into energy. 122 years after its construction, the small population of workers living on the island declared it's independence renaming it E.S.o.R.M..
Geography
E.S.o.R.M. was built with a large, flat metal base at sea level on which trash is piled. The island goes below sea level in multiple layers which all serve a different function in trash disposal.
At the north tip of the structure is the landing plate, one of two locations on the island that is an approved port for boats to anchor. The landing plate is one of very few sections of the exposed island that has a clear floor to make loading and unloading cargo from ships easier without sailors stumbling on loose trash. Of the two ports, the landing plate is the only part approved for foreign vessels to dock.
Natural Resources
While not a truly "natural" resource, E.S.o.R.M has an abundance of plastic, paper, and metal. Due to the islands initial function of converting trash into energy, the entire island has electricity.
History
The island initially built in 2715 as a joint effort between Riza and Le Veaux to create a landfill that won't negatively impact the natural landmass it's built upon. In 2837 the workers who lived on the island (as well as people who escaped to the island for one reason or another) attempted to declare the island an independent nation by the name of E.S.o.R.M.. Despite this, only a few nations such as Bayir, Ha Lang, and Balamelle recognize it as a country. Riza and Le Veaux are attempting to clear out the island and reclaim it.
