Cinderhall

The humans that once lived and thrived on Cinderhall died in a single cataclysmic night. Some horrific weapon, or unprecedented disease, or perhaps some combination of both struck the primitive world. In an instant, trees and grasses were fused into glassy carbon. Animal life fossilized, apparently in agony. The twisted and tormented forms of the inhabitants line the blackened halls of their primitive cities, each one forever frozen in time. The echoing psychic death-cry of Cinderhall can drive an unprepared psyker insane, but there are riches to be found in Cinderhall’s ruins. Gems and refined ores can be plucked from the hands of nobles and kings. Carbonized tapestries make a unique addition to a noble house’s collection, and certain morbid Rogue Traders have made collections of particularly unique or interestingly posed citizens.

Geography

The terrain of Cinderhall is exactly what you would expect from any world of decent size with a livable atmosphere and multiple biomes. The only difference now is that the planet has been consumed completely by the strange cataclysm that has befallen it. Mountains remains but now have a sheen of a black glassy surface covering them. Sanding beaches have been turned into white crystalline so pure it could hurt unshielded eyes.    The oceans themselves have remained but everything under the water's surface is a glassed over version of the flora or fauna it once was. The air is still breathable and the climate seems unaffected by whatever event took place to kill this planet but not knowing without a doubt the cause for this the Imperial Inquisition has declared this planet a quarantine zone for all Imperial citizens that do not possess an over riding directive, like a writ of trade for example.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem has been halted on this planet; completely. While the atmosphere still moves on, the rain and wind fall on and blow around a world frozen in a moment of agony and fear. The planets and animals of every stripe were glassed and murdered almost immediately. Most creatures have a look of shock and horror on their faces still giving credence to the theory that whatever happened, the people saw what was happening and were aware enough to cry out in alarm and pain.

Localized Phenomena

Every piece of biomatter once contained on this planet and the land itself has been converted to a glass-like substance which is both incredibly strong and heavy. The glass is not a coating but a replacement of the organic material that was there previously when it was alive creating incredibly detailed if not incredibly macabre statues across the planet's surface.
