Videha Pantheon

The Videha Pantheon, a complex and multifaceted religious system, governs the spiritual and cosmic understanding of the inhabitants of Videha, a region within the expansive world of Rolara. Central to Videha's cosmology are the six realms of existence, which not only categorize the universe's various life forms and states of being but also illustrate a cosmic hierarchy and map. These realms range from the divine terraced gardens of the Deva Realm, home to the gods, to the tormented landscapes of the Hell Realm.  

Mahadeva: The Supreme Deity

  At the pinnacle of Videha's pantheon resides Mahadeva, the supreme deity revered for residing atop Mount Kailasa. Mahadeva's worship is characterized by its diversity, with numerous Aspects such as Ajastra and Dharmeshvari, each embodying different facets of divine power and virtue.  

Ajastra: The Wild Protector

  Ajastra, known as "The Wild Protector," represents Mahadeva's ferocity and protective prowess. Worshiped by those living in wilderness or civilization's margins, Ajastra's followers engage in rigorous rituals to connect with nature and draw on the deity's strength.  

Dharmeshvari: The Beacon of Harmony

  Dharmeshvari promotes truth, compassion, and harmony, guiding followers to respect the universe's natural order. This Aspect's teachings emphasize the interconnectedness of all entities, advocating for balance and spiritual introspection.  

Vishravas: The Fragmented Creator

  The deity Vishravas, embodying cosmic genesis, shattered into 27 shards during the universe's creation, dispersing divine Magic. These shards influence the universe's fabric, from the Deva Realm's terraced gardens to the Hell Realms' depths and the Mortal Realm's landscapes. Vishravas' worship involves Shard Meditation, utilizing gemstone replicas of the Stars of Power to channel divine energy.  

Suryastra: The Healing Flame

  Suryastra, associated with the sky, sun, fire, and natural elements of healing, is worshiped primarily by the Aarakocra. This deity stands as a symbol of restoration and opposition to the forces of undeath, reflecting a cosmic balance of creation and destruction.  

Jandara: The Cosmic Harmonizer

  Once widely worshiped through the Festival of Cosmic Harmony, Jandara's current followers are few, though devout. Offerings to Jandara include iron tokens and incense made from "Jandara's Breath," a herb found in the deity's lingering presence areas.  

Vritra: The Enigmatic Dragon

  Though references to Vritra, a Dragon Deity, abound in Videha's folklore, concrete details about this mythological figure remain elusive, adding a layer of mystery to the pantheon.
