Greta Gorunn
"You should start looking into lifting because your arms make me sad. No offense I could benchpress you."
Description
Greta is a burly dwarf, frequently seen wearing a gym outfit. Her tendency to put her foot in her mouth has led her to accidentally offend many she’d wanted to befriend. In an effort to be liked, she may change aspects of her behavior and personality to better suit the people around her.Family
Originally from Ravnica, Greta's family deals in iron. She was brought up giving little mementos, and has the ability to carve stone. She demonstrated her skill when she gave Gary a stone carved with the face of Krokt as an apology for pushing him on their first night on campus.Year 1 Involvement
As another resident of Krokt Tower, Greta initially tried to befriend Gary. Instead, she pushed him aside when Zanther arrived. Though she apologized to Gary, she continued to struggle in these and similar social situations throughout the year. Despite being in the Strixhaven Iron-Lifters Society with Griff, she never became a closer friend of his. Greta believed she had been sponsored by the Izzet League for her first year at Strixhaven. However, she confided in Koss and Gary that the League had been sending her threatening letters, demanding she spy on fellow students and send them names of any in danger of failing. Koss and Gary realized it was likely the Oriq pretending to be the League. They advised her to stop responding to the letters or doing anything they told her to do, but kept the discussion secret from any staff as well as the rest of the F Squad. When confronted with danger, Greta was among the most distressed of the B Squad. She was notably nervous when related topics were brought up, would distance herself from the conversations, and was heard crying in her room on multiple occasions. She relied on tea to help calm her. During the scavenger hunt at the end of the year, she confided in Mistake that she’d been having memory issues. Mistake recognized this as the result of an Oriq poison and suggested she speak with Professor Lang immediately. A note discovered in Tobi's room confirmed her tea had been poisoned to make her forget how the Oriq coerced her into helping them at the beginning of the year. There is no cure for this type of memory loss at this time. Due to the amount of memory she’s lost, Greta is retaking her first year of classes at no additional cost to her or her family.
