The Gulf of David

The Emerald Way

This stretch of water sees much of Ros-Calla's commercial shipping. The green-blue waters are famous for their entrancing color.   As it such a well traveled route, pirate attacks are never to be discounted. However, they are quite rare because the navies of the Commonwealth and Autumn's Breeze keep steady eyes on a, broadly speaking, easily guarded territory. The island of Vool plays no small part in the channel's security. Foxes are rumored to seek out and infiltrate pirate crews, sabotaging their operations.

Geography

The waters here get their distinctive color from a collision of several factors.   First: the depths here are quite shallow. Second: most of the cloudy sediment from the Tigra river stays trapped within Tigra Bay. Third: The cliffsides of Vool and the mainland sport an abundance of white clay, which has nearly covered the whole seafloor.   There are many islands, or rather, rocks way out at sea that give safe haven and headquarters to ne'er-do-wells who are brave/stupid enough to risk confrontation with the two largest navies in the known world allied with master saboteurs. But the promise of a quick and profitable score plucked from the incredible amount of ships is often just to tempting to ignore forever.

Fauna & Flora

Fish here are plentiful, and kelp forests are spread out along the southern coast of Vool, and the northern coast of the Spur.

Natural Resources

The shallow depths mean that shipwrecks are not entirely out of reach. Entities invested in the salvage, legal or otherwise, can often dive for bounties contained within a derelict.   The demand for divers who can reliably dive the deepest for the longest time is always high, and said divers can expect to make a tidy career out off contract work.
