Mesotun

The Mesotun are an amphibious human branch race originating from the realm of Octawkat, God of seas and strength. They sport incredible physical strength and reflexes, gills and webbed digits to breath underwater and swim magnificently, as well as the tallest average stature of any branch race. Their populations have stayed relatively the same over the centuries due to their oddly long time to be able to produce offspring. One of the more notable facts about their appearance is how they age, which is to put simply, they do not stop growing so long as they eat properly. The Mesotun are fully aware of their advantages and are quite prideful of themselves, with a long history of discrimination dating back to the Astro-Tribal Era and came to a climax during the First Empire.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The overall traits all Mesotun have is a unique skin texture which implies scales, sharp "shark" teeth, as well as a row of gills on their necks. Mesotun are categorized into three races that vary in skin color, facial features, and bone/muscle structure. Boklo: heavy and compact, sharp teeth are wide, usually shades of blue. Less secondary color on abdomen. Gruda:  longer in body and face, thinner/longer teeth and jaw, usually shades of green. More secondary color on abdomen. Edbrum: Hard, noticeable angles on bones and muscles, smaller teeth, and a hard transition from bright red skin on the whole of their body to a white/tan on abdomen.

Genetics and Reproduction

Mesotun are a very strange case in this category. Seeing his children as human perfection, Octawkat forbid the Mesotun from being able to reproduce with any of the other branch races, cursing any woman to try an almost impossible chance to survive, and the child, who has even less of a chance, will be at incredible risk of a terrible defect. This sad reality makes the Mesotun feel a sense of isolation from the rest of humanity, which they hide behind their famous arrogant pride. Octawkat also made sure his children were truly worthy of passing on their genes. Mesotun are only able to reproduce past the age of 30.

Growth Rate & Stages

Mesotun children grow around their jaws, meaning that their heads do not look as they should until they reach adolescence due to their oversized teeth forcing their jaws to be larger than normal as they're born.
