Ovinnik (Spirit of the Barn)

Ovinnik are spirits of the barn, according to the Old Beliefs. In their natural form, they have vaguely feline appearances, but they can also disguise themselves as Cats to appear more innocuous. Woe betide any villager or farmer who tries to shoo away an Ovinnik, though, for they are very proud and can bestow both bad and good luck on a person.

Dietary Needs and Habits

An Ovinnik will take a share of any vegetables, grain or other food stored in its barn as payment for watching over the equipment and livestock. While in cat form, Ovinnik also enjoy eating any Mice or Rats that unwittingly trespass on the Ovinnik's territory.
