Unders Ecological Institute

Assembled from those who love exploration, ecosystems, and escapes. The Unders Ecological Institute dedicates itself to preserving the majest of natural life and coming to understand our place within it. The exciting new worlds to explore beneath the surface are as exciting any of the surface biomes of antiquity.   The Institute was established by wizards who were fascinated with the creatures of the deep. Early support came from industry and wealthy homes that found an interest in expanding their influence into the deep. Some genuine benefactors truly just want to understand the world. Still, ecologists have traveled with merchant convoys and military expeditions.   Yet, as it flourished and grew it became something of a druidic grove. A place where likeminded individuals gathered and shared their findings. But not everyone here was a druid, some were more academic than in tune with the natural world. Some simply liked to wander. Others illustrators, painters, artists who are moved by the sights they see in the natural world. Even just simply enthusiasts. People with not formal training or specific skill, but only the will and interest to learn and collect information as citizen ecologists.

What to do at the Institute

The Institute keeps its doors open to everyone. But most people speak in a combination of Druidic and Jargon here. Although they allow people in, they don’t realize that they are excluding people by the way they discuss things. However, that has been changing recently. Some activities have become available to people speaking the common tongue.

Specimen Retrievals

The Institute has recently lost their entire preserved collection of beast and monstrosity specimens and they are interested in rebuilding it.

Classes

In the large lecture hall there are monthly presentations. They welcome anyone who has an expert first hand experience with unique or interesting creatures to come speak and present to the ecological community. This is an opportunity to hear from explorers and ecologists as well as to present your own findings.
