Toru

A skilled fighter who grew up in the Low Quarter alone with his father. After his father died in S314, while serving in the Iron Guard, he grew greatly distrustful of them.

Appearance

Toru has shoulder length brown hair, often worn in a tight bun at the back of his head. He has amber colored eyes and fair skin. He is a bit taller than average, with a strong build.

Personal History

For as long as Toru can remember, he lived alone with his father in their two room house in the Low Quarter. Even at a young age, Toru was left home alone while his father worked as a member of the Iron Guard.
As a child Toru wanted to be just like his father, and insisted that his father train him to use a sword. Toru practiced for many years, eventually dragging the eldest daughter of his neighbors, Kome, into the training so that he would have a partner to practice with.
In S310 When Toru turned 20, he joined the Iron Guard himself. He was surprised to find that his father was angry, instead of proud. Toru only served for half a year before his father forced him to quit.
Over the next three years his father became increasingly stressed and paranoid, culminating in his untimely death while on duty in S314. Toru was convinced that the the city guilds had been behind his death, and he convinced Kome to help him investigate. The two discovered evidence of a connection between the Gold Guild and a cult that worships Hamamoto, and have been trying to expose the truth to the city ever since then.
