The Sword of Winter

ᛁᚲᛖᚹᛁᚾᛞ, the Sword of Winter, is a magic blade made by an unnamed Empyrean who promised young Prince Kereenyaga great power to slay his family in exchange for servitude to him. It is a long sword with an ornate but flawed short handle, despite such a blade usually demanding two hands. Kereenyaga wields it with one hand effortlessly and has come to embrace the design flaw as intentional. The weapon can call forward the Winds of Winter, winds that blow from Niflheim, cold enough to stop time and freeze the SOUL.

Personal history

Kereenyaga was the 5th child of Lady Siphephelo Nairobi, sired by Ragnar Lothbrok. Siphephelo was once a Knight of the Dragon's Head who battled King Ragnar for 10 days on end before either yielded. She would come to conquer her own Realm, Annygarðr (Anxious + Dwelling), which she later renamed as 'Winterfell', the home of her linegae. Prince Kereenyaga was considered the runt of his mother's liter, smaller than his siblings and far weaker. His resentment for his unfair treatment reached a climax on his 20th Birthday when he was humiliated by his brothers in the Great Hall. Consumed with emotion, Kereenyaga would be approached by a Winter God who understood his plight and gifted him ᛁᚲᛖᚹᛁᚾᛞ, the Sword of Winter. It was an artifact to be used to deliver justice, but by taking it Kereenyaga vowed to serve his new Master forever.

The massacre of the Winterfell royal family destroyed the budding Kingdom and created the Winter Knight, Kereenyaga himself being the last Lord of Winterfell. Kereenyaga would serve under his new God as the Winter Knight, spending 100s of years hunting down and slaying whomever he was ordered to, bringing their power back to his master to feed on. In time, Kereenyaga grew sick of himself and his master, seeing the 'God' for what he really was, an Empyrean desperate to accumulate power and become the 3rd Name of God. With this realization, Kereenyaga plots to kill his master. However, he named a new Winter Knight, believing Kereenyaga had outlived his purpose, and sought to retire him and take his power. Kereenyaga murdered the fresh meat and relieved the Winter God's body of its arrogant head.
