Structure

Family Branches

  • The Ambrosius Clan
Beings who claim lineage to King Constantine Ambrosius III and are the first in the line of succession. They command the Throne of Camelot and bear a unique bond with the last remaining Dragons of Olde.
  • The Le Fay Dynasty
An old Matriarchy of Mages who rule the Realm Avalon. Masters of Magic and the old arts are cousins of the Clan Ambrosius, as it is Camelotian tradition for royalty to be wed to a high-ranking Avalonian Mage.
  • Gens Artorius
Arthur Ambrosius, in his youth, journeyed for long periods of time in the 5th Dimension where he sired two sons with his first wife, Fairy Queen Mab; Morgan Artorius and Patrike Artorius. The Gens Artorius line of beings descends from these two Faeries and is the farthest removed from the line of succession.

Assets

Excalibur the Blade of War

The family sword of the House of Camelot is Excalibur, a blade forged in Avalon for King Uther Pendragon by Princess Morrigan le Fay, gifted to him during the 2nd Holy Dragon War. Excalibur is a modest sword for war but is enchanted to be unbreakable, the secrets of Avalon Magecraft. Additionally, while the scabbard is equipped, the user cannot bleed. The sword is linked to the lineage of Uther, and wielding it is a signal of that lineage and the right to rule Camelot.

History

Constantine Ambrosius III, the Conquering King

The Realm Britannia was home to all manner of beings, chief among them was the Mortal Clan Ambrosius, made prominently by Constantine Ambrosius III, a Conquering King who usurped the previous major barbarian clans and crowned himself as royalty, birthing the House of Camelot, named after the capital he took.
Constantine earned his title of "Conquering King" by invading the surrounding Realms of Britannia, expanding the power of his House and vastly increasing his own wealth. King Constantine had laid claim to 183 Realms before his death during the siege of Teopheogar, Realm 184. The secret to his power was his alliance with the Dragons of Olde, who had come to favor the warrior King and supplied him with Wyvern for his wars. His life was long but wrought with warm struggle, and hardships to create a dynasty that would outlive him and all he built.

Uther Ambrosius, the First Pendragon

King Uther, Son of Constantine
Constantine sired four sons from his wife Queen Othur, Uther, Aurelianus, Constantine IV, and Moigne Ambrosius. After Uther inherited the Throne, he vastly expanded the Kingdom of Britannia and sought about earning the favor of Níðhöggr, the First Name of God by supporting him during the war with Hasadiah, the Second Name of God. At Dragonstone, Uther crossed blades with Godfrey the Golden and escaped with Nidhoggr's last Dragon Egg, saving Dragon Queen Bambír, and sheltering a great many of the surviving Wyverns from the war. For his valor and courage, he was given the title "PENDRAGON".
When Hasadiah sent her Angels and Lord Godfrey to put the lineage to an end, Uther and the Mages of Avalon repelled the attack. While Godfrey did mortally wound the King, Ygraine le Fay banished him from their Realms, the second time the House of Camelot insulted and humiliated Her Grace, Hasadiah. A third invasion force would be made later, led by Solomon, King of Kings who commanded The Heavenly Host with Godfrey. A full-scale invasion was launched on the Kingdom of Britannia, but this time King Uther rode Biserorth, the last living Dragon of Olde, heir to Nidhoggr. Bonded together, Uther and Biserorth waged war with the Holy Order during the 2nd Holy Dragon War. In the end, neither side claimed victory, and the proud Solomon was reduced to signing a treaty with Uther.

King Madoc & Prince Eliwlod

King Uther sired three children with his wife Queen Ygraine; Madoc, Clarine, and Arthur Ambrosius. Madoc inherited the throne, and despite being a fearsome warrior, was described as soft and easygoing. Madoc ruled for the majority of the age when the Holy Order was in command of the Seven Seals. He obeyed the Treaty of Teopheogar signed by his Lord Father and King Solomon and strived to keep the Dragon Knights from another war with the Holy Order. Instead, he sought to bring himself into the fold of The Order of Yggdrasil, which taught the true worship of ISHIN instead of the deification of his Empyreans. Madoc and his Dragon Frindorad, Son of Biserorth, fought and died keeping The Black Winter at bay.
Queen Gwynedd had one heir to succeed her husband, Eliwlod Ambrosius. While Madoc was soft and passive, his son was eager to prove himself and overly ambitious. He could never swallow the humiliation of the 2nd Holy Dragon War and sought to drag the Order into a 3rd to regain their lost honor. However, the House now answered to the Order of Yggdrasil who ruled against the push. Additionally, his own Round Tabel did not wish to fight the Holy Order again, a 3rd War was unlikely to end in a stalemate. One side would lose. Eliwlod schemed in secret, with Judas Iscariot and his corrupt Apostles who had been seduced by Khaos Daemons. They plotted to kill Hasadiah and defile her on The Almighty, Throne of Yggdrasil so that another Empyrean could not succeed her.
King Eliwlod found the Temple of Khaos disagreeable but sought the glory of his own so much that he reasoned the Dragon Knights could easily stamp them out after Hasadiah was defeated. This may have been the case, but Eliwlod underestimated the defilement of Khaos and did not consider the consequences of killing the Name of God, and what that would mean for Yggdrasil in a power vacuum. The Temple of Khaos planned to steal the 7 Seals as well, a fact King Eliwlod was unaware of. When he learned of his mistake, it was too late, and Hasadiah was defiled on The Almighty. The natural flow or Order was disrupted. To his credit, Eliwlod sought absolution by going to face Judas himself with his Dragon Diadhiraig. However, Judas deceived him once again and summoned Daemon King Guildirchurix to aid him. Guildirchurix slew the young King and defiled his Dragon.

King Arthur, the Legendary Hero

King Arthur, Son of Uther
Arthur Ambrosius was the next in line as Madoc's younger brother, considering Eliwlod had no children or a consort. However, Arthur was an adventurer and sought to shrink the responsibility to his younger sister Princess Clarine. But she had forsaken her rights when she joined the Mages of Avalon and refused to re-take them, leaving the young Arthur as King. He was crowned king and, as is Camelotian King Tradition, was married to a Mage from Avalon, Guinevere Gawr. Arthur assembled his Round Tabel and set about trying to make sense of the war.
Arthur is recorded as a legendary and mythic being, rightly so, after inheriting the Dragonlord Force from his nephew. He led a strong offensive for the Kingdom and worked extensively with the Guardians Corps and Order of Yggdrasil. His greatest efforts were the addition of The Blackstone Hammer Forge and The Academy of Tarus Abid into the fold, both from different schools of thought, united by Arthur's strength if brute in nature.
Arthur's greatest project was the Ring of Moderation, a metaphysical structure that encompasses Midgard, acting as a moderator for classifications of beings. It prevented beings above a certain power and ability from manifesting in the Realm without drastically weakening themselves and outright banned certain Gods from manifesting at all without Vessels. This act helped secure Midgard and make it a safe haven for refugees escaping the carnage of war.
But, the war dragged on for thousands of years and Arthur quickly grew tired of the endless fighting and death. After killing a certain God, his 11 sons were cursed to die horrible deaths, and each one did, taking their last breaths in his arms. Only his 3 daughters remained, and he had them hidden from the cosmos by his sage councilor Merlin. One by one his Round Tabel fell or deserted him and even his own Knights and Warriors began to falter. He was eventually killed by his own bastard son, Mordred le Fay, with his stolen sword Clarent the Peace.

Mordred the Black

To refresh, King Uther married the Queen of Avalon, Ygraine le Fay. However, Ygraine was previously married to a Skald, Gorlois Le'Mahieu. They had nine daughters together, and one of them was the heir, Morgause le Fay. The details of her relationship with Arthur are foggy at best, but the fact is that they had relations. The result of this incestuous union was the bastard Mordred le Fay, disguised as one of Morgause's children by her Lord Husband Loth.
When Loth learned of this, he tried to kill the bastard, but he was spared by an Angel who saw an opportunity to bring down Arthur. The Angel twisted Mordred's mind until he was no longer sure who or what he was, manipulated into pursuing Arthur for revenge. Mordred faced down the defeated Arthur on the Tides of Jupiter, supported by Angels, and had a duel with his father. The outcome is known but the reason is under speculation. The most common theory is that Arthur preferred death to watch another one of his children die in his arms.
Mordred was to be executed for his crimes, but the situation had become complicated. The Order could not contact or locate Merlin, implying the rumors of his demise were true. This meant they could not get to Arthur's 3 daughters Merlin hid away. They wanted to restore Princess Clarine as royalty and put her on the throne, but she was confirmed to be dead with no living heirs. This left the bastard Prince as the only legitimate heir to the House of Camelot.
Lord Mordred le Fay, Son of Arthur & Blood of Morgause by Bellim, Caio
Mordred never dared to fashion himself as King, but took command of the Order, and was influential in keeping it together during the later years of the Great War in Heaven. Mordred was immense power with the instincts and spirit of a barbarian. He rode the Dragon Brinisdym and commanded the Black Knights. He defeated serval Gods and re-took all the Realms his Kingdom lost after the death of Arthur. Well into his twilight years, after the Great War ended, Mordred continued to repent for his sins, serving as a deterrent for many superpowers who would otherwise see the Dragon Knights fall into oblivion. His greatest shame was the Siege of Camelot when remnants from the Holy Order laid Camelot to destruction and killed him on his throne. The 1st and only time in recorded history that Camelot ever fell, and it was on his watch.

Lord Medraut the Courageous

Mordred had two sons with Cwyllog Cynwrig, a nun from the Order of Yggdrasil. They were Melehan and Medraut Cynwrig, made royalty in desperate times.

Military

The Penguard

The official Household Knights of House Camelot are the Penguard (Head Guard) composed of courageous warriors from the 16 approved Sage Houses. One must be born into or be a Ward of said Sage Houses to even have the honor of being on the Penguard. They serve for life and are wholly dedicated to a single Pendragon, standing watch over their Lord's grave for all of the eternity should they die. To this very day, the immortal Brarawd the Last stands watch over the resting place of her Lord, King Constantine Ambrosius III.
