The Lightning Rail

The brilliant invention of Giwivyt Quickwit Cepwell, The Lightning Rail was opened in 565 AF. Using pioneering technologies and with the financial backing of The Union of Helleya itself, the network was laid down all across the five nations and extending even to the edge of The Mror Holds. Trade boomed and the inventors company, founded under the name The Lighteners, quickly established themselves as a power holder in Khorvaire.
That was until The Mourning and The Last War. Trade and transportation halted quickly to the ground and Giwivyt was saddened to see her brilliant masterpiece fall so quickly into disuse. She worked hard and spent all the money she had accrued to keep the network maintained throughout the war, even if the portion of it that ran through Cyre was never going to function again.
The Lighteners were as pleased as anyone when The Thronehold Concord brokered peace throughout the land. It was not long before travel and transportation were common again and business was booming. To this day, The Lightning Rail remains the quickest and most convenient way to travel across Khorvaire.
