Archduke/Archduchess
Archdukes are powerful nobles in the Asturian feudal system. Answering only to the King, they are free to rule their lands as they see fit.
There are four Archdukes in Asturia, one for each of the provinces.
Requirements
Twice per year, in the Spring and Fall, Dukes hold court in their domains.
Appointment
Grand Duchies are granted by the King and only very rarely. The most recent was the elevation of Volkhardt Blackhammer to the position as a reward for his participation in defending Asturia during the Shadow War. Archduke Blackhammer chooses to go by the dwarven name for the title—Herzog—when being formally addressed.
