Echoing Light Mine

In 1193 AR the Great Lift was completed and with it came a rush to begin mining in the Crimson Lowland. At first negotiations with the Anasazi Tribes was slow, as some among them did not wish to have their lands despoiled.   None the less, a few deals were made and the most notable result has been the discovery of the Echoing Light Mine which has proven to contain the largest lode of silver in recent memory. More incredible still was the discovery of crystalline deposits (dubbed “Dream Crysts” by sages) deep within the mine that glow with an unearthly radiance.   Events took a dark turn when the largest of the Dream Crysts—which was said to be the size of a grown man's torso—was extracted from the earth. In the days following the removal of the cryst, every single person who was present at the mine during the time of extrication began suffering dreadful dreams to the degree that they were unable to ever rest. Over the next several weeks the nightmares drove every soul that had them to madness through the prolonged lack of sleep. Many of the men committed suicide, some fled into the badlands screaming at the sky, and the remaining few were placed in Whitestone Manor by the Gazel Ministry who endeavour to discover the source of the dreams.
