Wraiths
History
In what was once the Province of Manzi the people used to worship Morgance. But some were swayed by the whispers of Dumisani. These people he turned into the Aisling as they already were Supernaturals.
As time went on this group got stronger and the regulars turned away from Morgance, choosing to worship Tairra instead. They prayed to her to keep Dumisani away.
While the pair worked together to take people away from Morgance, Dumisani had his own plans, his own way to get back at Morgance.
Without telling Tairra, he set his plan into motion. At the end of the Civil War, Dumisani released a green mist that killed everyone within the borders of what was now the Kingdom of Manzi, except for Jelani.
Dumisani sacrificed Jelani. This sacrifice augmented Dumisani's own power, allowing him to turn everyone in the Kingdom into Wraiths. Doing this strengthened the Aislings abilities and allowed them to always be able to use them. The regulars were gifted with some control over their world due to being Wraiths but what they can do is minimal compared to what the Aisling can do.
Cultural Reception
In the Kingdom itself, "life" went on. Though everyone was frozen, age wise, at the time of their physical deaths. Many were locked mentally into believing that the Civil War ended not that long ago. The class system became more rigid with the Aisling gaining more control because of their abilities.
My Defenders are still grieving for the passing of several thousands of people, many of whom were Supernaturals. I commend their loyalty to others of magickal ability and to people in a general sense. I cannot feel the same way, not about my enemies... I have not told them the people of Manzi have shed their mortal coil and taken ethereal form. I do not know how my Defenders shall take the news. I am not even sure if I should inform them. After all, what harm could the spirits of Manzi inflict on us?In the Kingdom of Merkan, the Darktide Defenders nearly started rioting over the physical deaths of so many Supernaturals. Even though the King knew what happened to them, he didn't tell the Defenders. The other three Kingdoms had very little reaction what happened because they had turned in on themselves, so they could heal from the Civil War. Over time knowledge of the Wraiths and the Kingdom of Manzi faded from peoples minds because it was rare for anyone to leave the Kingdom they were born in. Though, it did, essentially, become forbidden to go into the Kingdom of Manzi because whenever someone did, they always died.
