Aetherstone

Aetherstone is believed to be pieces of hardened aether that either existed within the etherial aether since the dawn of time, or were byproducts of the creation of the world. It is much sought after, as it is, in essense, hardened magic, and as such, makes doing magic, and especially creating magical artifacts, much easier. Powdered aetherstone is used as a component in potions, spells and crafting of magical weapons and armour, and gems of aetherstone are powerful spell focuses.

Aetherstone is found mostly, but not exclusively underground, and it can be found anywhere in Sildair, though it is exceedingly rare.
