The Golden Epoch

The Golden Epoch is a period of 947 years marked by the rise of the Empire of Dunor. The Dunorian calendar, which defines the Epochs, was created to track the Golden Epoch, which was named thus by its contemporaries. It started with the completion of the construction of the Pantheon, the massive temple dedicated to The Seven in the center of Dunethel, which Asgal the Golden commissioned 77 years earlier. It lasted until the outbreak of The Second War of Ashes, although some texts fom the time will still count a few years into the war as years of the Golden Epoch, as they were not aware of the impact of the war at the time.

Following the notation system of the Dunorian calendar, it is abreviated GE. An example of a date would be the battle of Burnom Hills at the end of the War of the Raiders which is written as "13. Warming, 654 GE", and is spoken as: "The 13th of Warming in the 654th year of the Golden Epoch."
