The Inquisition
The Holy Inquisition of the Church of Light, or simply "The Inquisition" is an organisation of Lumerian clergy, who specialize in finding and combating demons and demon worshippers in the western nations of Sildair. The organisation itself is sub-divided into three orders: Hereticus, Malleus and Xenos. Each of these orders deal with specific threats to civilization and to the church. Hereticus investigates individuals who break the laws of the church, worship any of the Lords of Malice, and practice forbidden magics, such as necromancy. Malleus investigates demons themselves, such as possesions and incursions. Xenos deals with those magical creatures that fall outside the realm of demons, such as elementals, fey, and aberrations.
Inquisitors carry with them an inquisitorial rosette, which is a broche of silver, with an inlay of burgundy velvet. It is in the shape of a capital 'I', with three lines across it.
