Session 12: What's inside the box? Report

General Summary

-You emerge from the catacombs, suffering visions and nightmares the whole time. Wondering, what is the nature of belief? What's in the box?
-The priest is nowhere to be found
-You study the box with detect magic, sensing the same chaotic energy from the box. Zephyra tries to study the kelema veil with the Detect Magic spell andshe is unable to interpret anything with her mortal sense, though it spurs her curiosity.
-You ultimately decide to wait to open the box until after you've had a chance to examine it closer.
-Sealah hangs back as the group is climbing out of the Winter Nexus and suddenly opens the box.
-Shadow creatures fly out of the box and attack, after the creatures emerge the box floats into the air briefly and disappears.
-During the battle, a Leina warrior guard who was stationed nearby enters the cavern and helps you without hesitation.
-After a pitched battle with the shadow monsters, Sealah is dropped unconscious from their psychic onslaught.
-One of the smoky shadowy monsters swirls around and enter Sealah while he is dying and it heals him back to 1hp.
-The rest of the monsters are swiftly defeated and they dissipate.
-You order the guard to stop anyone from entering or exiting the Winter Nexus.
-She tells you that you've been gone for two days and that she was stationed at the Nexus to wait for you.
-You leave the Winter Nexus, confirm by assessing your surroundings that it has indeed been some time since you entered the nexus.
-You decide to head to Hermynia's to get some healing for yourselves and Sealah. And also to visit Niketa.
-On your way you spot Anthousa outside Leina Tower speaking to Hestia about a mysterious sighting near the Amatraphon.
-She questions you rather sternly, accusing you of being foolish for entering the Winter Nexus.
-You spoke to her about the box from the Tomb of Briseis.
-Fabian and Zephyra try to lie about how the box came to be opened, but Anthousa was able to see through the deception.
-She tells everyone that Karametra can sense their deception and that she is coming to Leviathalas to hold court and wants to speak to the party.
-She demands you tell her the truth of what happened because dark things are afoot and she needs everyone to work together.
-Sealah steps up to the plate and takes responsibility for opening the box, though he admits he believes he was not fully in control of his actions.
-Fabian recounts the tale of the fight with the shadow monsters and how one kirby sucked itself into Sealah's body
-She tells you of the sighting near the Amatraphon how it appears to be of Nyx origin. A mist of starlight that disappeared into the forest before it could be approached and identified.
-She tells you to find out more about the box and to find it, whatever means is necessary.
-She also, in no uncertain terms, threatens to kill Sealah if he somehow threatens the safety of the Polis given what happened to him.
-Finally you explained what happened to Fotia. That you believe she was cursed by Nylea due to the burning of the grove and that you were forced to kill her. Anthousa is not please but nonetheless sends you off to learn more.
-You decide to first visit Hermynia to attend to Sealah's condition, then plan to visit Tall Trees and Niketa.
