Dretch
Dretches are wretched creatures, some of the weakest of the Demons , dwelling in the chaotic and malevolent realm of The abyss .
Born from the corrupted souls who fall into the abyss may it be for the greed and selfishness of the soul, a deal it has made or any other reson, Dretches emerge in the Abyss, transformed by the chaotic energies that permeate this unholy plane. Their grotesque forms and twisted minds reflect the malevolence that engulfs them.
Dretches stand about four feet tall, their bodies a nauseating mix of leathery, mottled skin and putrid hues. With misshapen limbs and a hunched posture, their overall appearance is repulsive. Sharp fangs protrude from their mouths, and a constant stench of decay accompanies them.
Considered the lowest rung in the abyss, Dretches are often enslaved by more powerful Demons or Fiends . They serve in various capacities, from menial labor to cannon fodder in the eternal conflicts that plague the Abyss. Despite their lowly status, their numbers make them a pervasive presence in the chaotic landscapes of The abyss .
Dretches possess limited intelligence and exhibit base instincts driven by hunger and violence. They lack the strategic prowess of higher Demons but compensate with sheer numbers and a feral, unpredictable nature. Their inherent magical resistance makes them resistant to certain spells, but their feeble intellect leaves them susceptible to manipulation.
