Etaria

A Nation Of Decline

Etaria has for some time now been struggling with producing the goods and economy they promised when they came into power of The Grand Folimian Truce. They heavily rely on their trade connection with Cartitia to distribute goods between Folimia and the main continent.
Folmia is full of various exotic resources, due to the warmer climate and active river flow through the island unique flora (and fauna) come to inhabit the lands. Etaria is well known for its export of Deer meats and hides, a well sort after commodity for the high classes. They also are very prominent deer trainers, providing some of the fastest deers in Skålnir. Additionally, Etaria, alongside the rest of Folimia accounts for a large percentage of the grain trade into the main continent as it is often too cold and infertile in the northern lands for grains to grow.
It is good to have an understanding of the queer political formation in Folimia, you can read about it in The Grand Folimian Truce
Border of Colour
Folimia is uniquely native to 3 flowers that are not found anywhere else in the world, furthermore, each flower is only found in one of the three Folimian nations. The borders of the nations were dictated by where these flowers grew giving each flower a distinct nationality.
In Etaria their national flower, and symbol, is the Orange Rose also known as Pheonix Heart. It symbolises Etaria's rise through the ashes of the Royal Cleansing and how Etarians will always seek justice whether it be in their life or the next.
These flowers also provide beautiful and vibrant dyes, another large trade item for Folimia.

Relationship with Cartitia

Etaria's ruling Farrowforce Family have strong relationships with the Royal Dire Family of Cartitia, together they prospered together and together they fall. Both families have been seeing a combined decrease in popularity amongst their respective people. Previously, the trade with Cartita flourished and brought prosperity to both nations allowing the goods from Folimia easy distribution to the Western lands of Skålnir due to Cartitia's heavy flow of merchants and trade routes. Recently, the merchants guild has been utilising their connections and power of trade in Cartitia to make a power grab of the trade lines. In their attempt to undermine the Dire family, they have sabotaged the infrastructure of Etaria by pulling out their members from the nation and have made trade from Folimia heavily taxed making it no longer feasible for many merchants.

Magic in Etaria

The closer one is to a large port town the fewer people will mind your magical essence, though it is not entirely welcome in Etaria, it is tolerated due to the large shiftment of people (and types of people). Ultimately, as long as those who practice magic do their best to hide it and move on quickly with their travels then the locals will be happy, try to settle down or travel further inland in Etarian borders, well, theyll be more resistance to your 'abnormalities'.
